Swing Into a New Hobby by Learning to Draw Rapunzel From Tangled!

The latest video in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ #DrawWithDisneyAnimation series will have you shouting, “BEST. DAY. EVER!”

Rapunzel has been swinging off the screen and into our hearts for years. In this step-by-step tutorial, we are given an inside look at how to bring this adventurous princess to life.

How to Draw Rapunzel from Tangled

From the very first moment of putting pencil to paper, Tangled Story Artist and Frozen 2 Director of Story Marc Smith teaches us that story and feeling inspires each drawing. He encourages artists to first come up with a story for the scene of a drawing. Also, a useful tool to help inform Rapunzel’s expression is to imagine how she’s feeling. In this demonstration, Rapunzel is looking at Eugene and thinking, “I like you, I just don’t trust you.”

What expression is Rapunzel making in your drawing? Be sure to leave room for all that magical hair!

Have you ever wondered if you could be an artist? Like Rapunzel, find the courage to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, because as Marc states, “The world needs artists just like you!”

Don’t forget to share your work with the rest of the world by using the hashtag #DrawwithDisneyAnimation!
