It might be Mickey’s birthday celebration, but today, we all got a gift!
An official 90th birthday portrait of Mickey called “Spreading Happiness Around the World” was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, and we’re obsessed! The unveiling happened during the panel “Celebrating 90 Years of Mickey Mouse with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.” You can read more about the panel here!
We love this art even more because it’s painted by renowned Disney animator Mark Henn. D23 and the Walt Disney Archives, in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios, commissioned Henn to paint Mickey’s official birthday portrait. See for yourself:
Henn portrays Mickey doing what he does best—spreading magic and making the world a happier place. (P.S. See if you can spot the Mickey balloon!)
