Today, D23 announced that National Geographic will be joining D23 Expo for the first time and honestly, we can't think of a better way to welcome them to the Disney and Disney+ family!
National Geographic will be bringing their talent, explorers, and — are you ready for this — some of their cuddly four-legged friends! You can expect unique experiences, special signings, and talent appearances in the National Geographic pavilion. Here's what we can't wait to see:
On August 23, rock climber Alex Honnold, featured in the Academy Award-winning film Free Solo, will have a book signing from 1-2pm.
Dr. Jan Pol from Nat Geo WILD's No. 1 series The Incredible Dr. Pol, will share his amazing animal stories (and bring some cute and cuddly furry friends) to the Expo on August 24 from 3-4pm.
Chill out on August 25 from 11am-12pm with Sue Aikens of Life Below Zero. Learn about her jaw-dropping lifestyle in the remote corners of Alaska and get a taste of the subzero temperatures of Alaska while she signs autographs, takes pictures, and shares her incredible tales.
Throughout the weekend, National Geographic will take you on an incredible journey to explore the oceans in a unique fan experience called "Beneath the Blue."
In addition, National Geographic will present panels during the Expo we'll definitely be joining!
Women of Impact: Meet the Nat Geo Explorers Changing the World
This Saturday panel will feature women on the front lines of exploration, conservation, and storytelling. From piloting submarines to getting up-close with lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!), these women will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become a game-changing explorer.
Power Up Your Brain with Keegan-Michael Key
Pretty much wherever Keegan-Michael Key goes, we go. At this panel, fans will get a first look at the reboot of Brain Games, a wildly popular series on National Geographic, and play mind-bending, interactive games with Key (Toy Story 4, The Lion King) as the host. Joining him on stage is top-class mentalist Lior Suchard, who will engage fans in what promises to be a mind-blowing experience!
Needless to say, D23 Expo can't come soon enough! We're certain National Geographic will deliver some of the most incredible experiences we've ever seen on the D23 Expo floor.
