May the 4th Be With You, indeed! Fans have a lot to look forward to on Disney+ this year on Star Wars Day, as brand-new original content is coming to the streaming service on May the 4th: the premiere of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and the highly anticipated series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars Day, otherwise known as May the 4th, began as a grassroots, fan-created holiday and has grown into a galaxy-wide celebration of the Star Wars saga.
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is an unprecedented look behind the scenes of the pop culture phenomenon. Executive Producer Jon Favreau brought together the cast and crew to give fans an inside look into the making of the first live-action Star Wars series. Each chapter of the eight-part documentary series examines different facets of The Mandalorian through cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, exploring topics like the iconic score, the connections to Star Wars characters, and props from across the galaxy.
Here’s what we learned from the recent Disney+ press release:
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is an opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how The Mandalorian came together and some of the incredibly talented contributors throughout Season 1,” said [Jon] Favreau. “We had a great experience making the show and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.
Also coming to the service on Monday, May 4, is the series finale of the critically acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars. After seven seasons, fans around the world will have the chance to watch the finale together as the Emmy award-winning series comes to a close.
This year’s May the 4th promises to be a special day for Star Wars fans around the world, with the new additions to the Star Wars saga only on Disney+.
