Anthony Daniels, the actor who has portrayed protocol droid C-3PO since 1977, reads “R2-D2 and the Renegade Rescue” from the Star Wars: Galactic Adventures Storybook Collection. Did you know that Daniels is no stranger to reading Star Wars stories? Long-time Star Wars fans may recall he’s read several storybooks on record and cassette tape during the original trilogy’s release, including Adventures in Colors and Shapes. And he’s even read numerous Star Wars novel audiobooks throughout the years! (And let’s not forget that C-3PO can spin a yarn or two, especially if it’s huddled around a campfire in the Ewok village.)
Wookiee Fun Fact #81: Wookiees love storytime! Our next story begins as the Millennium Falcon lands on the lush island of Jedi exile, Ahch-To. It’s there that the ship’s famous co-pilot meets new friends in Chewie and the Porgs, written by Kevin Shinick, illustrated by Fiona Hsieh, and read by Chewbacca himself, Joonas Suotamo! Suotamo has been playing Chewbacca since Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where he shared the role with the original Chewbacca, Peter Mayhew.
Wookiee Fun Fact #91: Peter Mayhew was three-inches taller than Suotamo, standing 7’2” (while Joonas is still a quite-tall 6’ 11”)!
