At first glance, the characters from Hercules don't seem that relatable—they are immortal gods, goddesses, and half-goat men after all—but trust, our favorite Hercules characters are actually just like us. Check it out:
“Hey, you need an extra guy?” –Hercules
Hercules just wants to have friends and hang out with the other kids. It’s hard being a teenager and even harder when you’re ostracized for being different.

Everybody wants to know where they came from. Some people do genealogy, Hercules talked to a personified statue of his dad.

We totally hear you, Phil. Sometimes dreams can seem impossible.

Megara can handle it, and we can totally relate. We know what it’s like to want to prove that we can handle things. We CAN, okay?

We all just need a chance, and Hercules is waiting for his.
“I didn’t know that playing hooky could be so much fun.” –Hercules
We are totally not supporting playing hooky, kids. Stay in school. (But in reality, we understand that allure of the hooky.)
“People do crazy things… when they’re in love.” –Megara
MEG, PLEASE DON’T GO! We mean… Meg is so self sacrificing and brave and we can absolutely relate to doing crazy things because of love. (She also gives great advice.)
“We were so close! So close, we tripped at the finish line.” –Hades
Even Hades can be a relatable character. No matter how devious his plan was, it’s frustrating to have your hard work be for nothing.
“For a true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.” –Zeus
Zeus is so wise.
