For Star Wars fans across the galaxy, this May the 4th is proving to be extra special! Disney+ is immersing fans in a galaxy far, far away, not only with new and original Star Wars content premiering on Disney+, but also with incredible Star Wars concept art from the legendary Ralph McQuarrie.
As of May 1, for the first time ever on Disney+, fans will be able to navigate to a dedicated Star Wars page directly from carousel art using McQuarrie’s stunning 1975 concept art painting of the droids in the desert. It’s the first design refresh since the service launched, and a special treat for Star Wars fans (in addition to new Star Wars avatars).
Once immersed in the Star Wars page on Disney+, fans will be treated to an adaption of character art from the Star Wars Celebration 2019 commemorative mural by Jason Palmer and other celebrated artists.
And that’s not all! On May the 4th, Star Wars films and series across the service—from Star Wars: A New Hope to The Mandalorian—will receive an artwork update to feature its original concept paintings.
There’s so much to celebrate on this special fan day. May the 4th be with you, wherever you are. The entire Skywalker Saga (including The Rise of Skywalker), the series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, are now streaming on Disney+.
